This grape originated in S.A. as a cross pollination between Pinot Noir and Cinsault. Here we refine the wine in the cellar by pressing off the skins early to avoid over extracting. The result is a wonderful wine that has a potpourri and berry aroma. The palate has notes of pomegranate and raspberry with an unmistakable velvet soft full body. Neutral French oak for 5 months. This wine is made from the variety Baco Noir. It is a blend of 7 different vintages to bring together the complexity that would deliver a port style wine. The dark color and bright acidity of Baco Noir combining with heavy toast, 10% residual sugar and 20% alcohol elevate everything into an incredible balance. This is the winemaker’s longstanding favorite.
